Where to Go
Where to Go in the US Virgin Islands
St. Thomas is another duty free shopping haven, concentrated around the cruise ship terminal at Charlotte Amalie. Otherwise, the capital’s Main Street is an ideal spot to shop and grab lunch. St. John, by contrast, remains refreshingly undeveloped, with the majority of the island designated as a nature reserve. Cruise ship passengers and tour groups tend to head to the scenic Trunk Bay, a snorkeling hotspot and outstanding beach. On St. Croix, historic Christiansted and Frederiksted both pack their fair share of colonial architecture, with Fort Frederik a particular highlight.
