Where to Go
Where to Go in Antigua and Barbuda
St. John’s, the island capital, retains a certain old Caribbean charm and is worth a day’s exploration, especially the cathedral. However, the real highlight is around English Harbour, the yachting capital in a stunning natural harbor, overlooked by Shirley Heights. Come here in summer, though, and many of the bars and restaurants will be closed. In Barbuda, development is at a minimum, with little in the way of landmarks. Make the trip for 17-mile beach alone, or to wind down the pace.
