Jamaica has some great guest houses and apartments, but the real action is at the big resorts in Montego Bay, Negril and Ocho Rios. Beaches, Couples, Sandals and Jewels are the dominant names on the island, with resorts for couples-only, adults-only and the whole family, occupying the best spots on Montego Bay and Seven Mile Beach.

Low operating costs already mean competitive prices compared to some other Caribbean islands, but standard hurricane season savings apply. In other words, if you’re prepared to come during the heat and humidity of summer, you’ll find greatly reduced rates. The good news is that the tourist season doesn’t wind down too drastically.
Highlights
Of the large hotels, the Half Moon resort at Rose Hall has outstanding amenities topped off with a Robert Trent Jones Sr. Championship Golf Course. For a unique stay, however, GoldenEye and Jamaica Inn have the touches of glamour and old school elegance that glossy style magazines coo over.
