The DR is all-inclusive, budget beach heaven, with Secrets, Barcelo, Dreams and Iberostar fighting it out with some great offerings in Punta Cana on the south coast and Puerto Plata on the north coast.
Deals
Nearly all the tourism arrivals to the DR come on package deals, with flights and accommodation included. Booked online, these can yield some ridiculously low rates, especially during the summer months. The only risk is that the DR inevitably takes a hit from whatever storms are bowling around the Caribbean.
