Where to Stay

Discover the All-New Salterra Resort: A Luxury Collection Resort in South Caicos

South Caicos, a tranquil eight-square-mile island in the heart of Turks and Caicos, is about to welcome a new level of luxury. Known for its pristine beaches and natural beauty, this gem of the “sister islands” will soon host a world-class resort: Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa, set to open in early 2025.

While South Caicos is already home to the popular Sailrock Resort, this new development marks a significant milestone, as Salterra will be the first Luxury Collection property in Turks and Caicos. Marriott’s latest addition follows the resort’s rebranding from East Bay Resort to Salterra last summer, and a major renovation that began shortly thereafter. This will be the second Marriott-portfolio resort in the region, joining the Ritz-Carlton, Turks and Caicos on Providenciales.

A Paradise for Nature and Luxury Lovers

Situated on one of the most peaceful beaches in the Turks and Caicos Islands, Salterra promises to offer a unique blend of luxury and tranquility. According to Michael Tibbetts, CEO of JEM Worldwide, the resort’s owner, “We are looking forward to offering guests the opportunity to reconnect with nature and themselves with the stunning backdrop of South Caicos.”

Salterra will feature 100 guest rooms and suites, including spacious one and two-bedroom suites and exclusive three-bedroom “Governor’s Penthouse” suites. These options are designed to cater to families and larger groups seeking a luxurious escape. The interiors will reflect the island’s natural beauty, offering guests an immersive experience of comfort and elegance.

World-Class Amenities and Culinary Experiences

Guests at Salterra can indulge in a variety of world-class amenities, including a signature spa for ultimate relaxation. The resort will also showcase six distinct dining and beverage options, including:

  • Coba Bar and Grill: A Latin-inspired culinary experience.
  • Sisal: A chic cocktail bar.
  • Brine: A fine-dining restaurant offering exquisite cuisine.

Sustainability and Coral Reef Conservation

Salterra is not just about luxury—it’s also about sustainability. The resort’s owners have committed to a green initiative that will see the property generate 50% of its energy needs from solar power. Additionally, they have launched the South Caicos Coral Reef Consortium, which includes both an in-water and land-based coral nursery to support coral reef conservation efforts.

Experience the Luxury Collection in Turks and Caicos

Salterra is more than a resort; it’s a thoughtfully curated collection of experiences that blends the best of nature with unparalleled luxury. Philipp Weghmann, Vice President and Global Brand Leader of The Luxury Collection, shared, “Our new resort isn’t just a destination; it’s a carefully crafted collection of experiences, a harmonious blend of comfort, and a reflection of our dedicated commitment to redefining luxury hospitality.”

With its debut in early 2025, Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort and Spa, is set to elevate South Caicos as a premier destination in the Caribbean’s luxury travel market.
