US, Canadian and EU visitors will not find any Caribbean island which requires an entry visa, although US visitors require special permission to visit Cuba. Travel insurance is recommended for any trip to the Caribbean, particularly emergency evacuation coverage in case airlift is required. Check also that insurance policies cover so-called dangerous activities such as scuba diving.

Made up of the islands of St. Thomas, St. Croix and St. John, the USVI were originally settled by the Danes, but today form part of the US. St. John is one of the only Caribbean islands without an airport.

Banks & ATMS. Plenty of ATMs especially around Charlotte Amalie. Credit cards widely accepted.

Internet Cafes. Good on St. Thomas, less so on St. Croix and St. John.
Cell Phones access/Dialing code +340. Some US carriers do not apply roaming charges.
Safety Tips. Drinking age is 18, no open containers. Mild caution advised in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas and Christiansted, St. Croix. No concerns on St. John.
