Don’t Miss the 2024 Francis Nunes Jr. Memorial Fishing Tournament & Seafood Festival
The tradition of a fun, community-driven fishing tournament continues this year, focusing on encouraging youth participation.
“As a former Antigua Sports Fishing (ASF) Chairman, Mr. Nunes loved the sea and cooking seafood dishes. He was passionate about getting junior anglers involved, and this tournament honors his legacy,” says Robert Hall, tournament director.
Anglers on 20 to 25 boats will compete for the largest wahoo, kingfish, tuna, and dolphin (mahi-mahi), while festivities at the Falmouth Harbour Marina host venue feature food, drinks, and music.
Grace Foods Cooking Competition
A highlight of the festival, this cooking competition will see teams competing for an EC $1,000 (US $370) prize. “We expect all eight spots to be filled with eager participants ready to claim the prize,” adds Hall.
